The Opportunity:

Performs assigned work tasks and may attend scheduled classes and complete related study

OVERVIEW

Under the supervision of the Production Manager (Apprenticeship Manager):

   -    Learn how the company operates and the requirements of the production environment,

   -    Develop skills in an industrial environment,

   -    Apply theoretical courses acquired during the apprenticeship phases,

   -   Conduct studies on production processes to improve their operation.

Its actions are part of the site's Quality - Hygiene - Safety - Environment policy and in accordance with current procedures (ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, SGS standards).

POSITION PROFILE (Main purpose of position and interdependencies)

- Internal

  -   Belong to the engineering team

  -   Under responsibility of Operational Production Manager

  -   Strong relationships with Production, HSE and Maintenance departments

- External

  -   Suppliers,

  -   External companies,

  -   Customers, auditors, and visitors

MAJOR JOB DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES (KPIs)

• Global :

  • Conduct studies to improve production processes,
  • Develop new processes,
  • Join the Production Unit Management team and participate in simple daily tasks,
  • Participate in ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations in all phases of chemical product packaging.

Organizational:

  • Lead assigned process improvement projects. This may be partial or complete, depending on     the complexity of the project and the employees’ experience.
  • Provide progress updates to Production Managers and production teams.

Technical expectations:

  • Produce technical study reports.

Autonomy:

  • Identify equipment, service, and subcontracting needs.
  • Draft technical specifications in collaboration with the engineering teams.
  • Issue calls for tenders, analyze proposals, and select suppliers.
  • Track orders through on-site delivery, in collaboration with the purchasing and logistics departments.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training, experience, and certifications)

- Two-year post-secondary education (chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering, etc.) with registration as an apprentice at an engineering school.

- Technical English.

- Proficiency in office software.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

- Knowledge of chemical risks, where to find this information, and how to interpret it.

- Tenacity, perseverance, rigor, and confidentiality.

- Committed to continuous improvement,

- Open to constructive criticism
