Your role and responsibilities
Working in the Blue Badge team you will be assisting customers with their Blue Badge applications over the telephone, answering their enquiries received via email or letter, assisting with incoming documents either by email or post. You will be using specific data systems to support the team with a number of important administrative tasks to ensure that applications for a Blue Badge parking permit are processed correctly.
You will thrive in a busy and target driven environment. You will be passionate about getting it right first time and putting the customer at the heart of everything that you do.
Your apprenticeship
- Apprenticeship: Business Administration level 3
- Duration: up to 21 months

You will need
- the desire to gain valuable work based skills and experience
- determination and dedication to succeed in your qualification and in the workplace
- the attitude to help you become the best that you can be
- excellent communication skills both spoken and written
- good IT Skills
- previous experience working in customer service, a contact centre or local government is useful but not a pre-requisite to join our team. A desire to provide the best service for our customers is essential. Comprehensive training is provided for new starters. Ongoing training and improvement is part of our culture and will continue throughout your career working with us.
The team
We process all Blue Badge applications for Suffolk. There are currently over 44K live badges in Suffolk. Last year we processed 21,202 applications and issued 19,473 badges. The Blue Badge Team operates from 08:06 – 16:00 Monday - Friday
