This is a 11-week paid learning experience during which you'll be able to connect and network with other interns and leaders within the company. Finance at T-Mobile offers a fast-paced and team-focused environment that will grow your Finance and leadership skills as you help craft the success of the Un-carrier.

As a Data Intelligence Intern within the Fraud Decision Intelligence team, you’ll gain hands-on experience in how T-Mobile protects customers and the network from fraud. You’ll work alongside experienced analysts who investigate emerging fraud trends, develop detection strategies, and use data to drive smarter decision-making.

This internship is ideal for someone who’s naturally curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how data and analytics are used to combat real-world fraud. You’ll have opportunities to analyze data, contribute to process improvements, and support the development of new fraud prevention strategies — all while learning from some of the best in the industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in analyzing existing fraud rules and reviewing their performance
  • Help identify potential new fraud patterns and trends through data analysis
  • Support team members in conducting fraud loss analysis and data validation
  • Learn to extract, clean, and process data from multiple sources using SQL and internal tools (such as OPTIMUS)
  • Participate in meetings and projects that focus on improving fraud detection methods and data-driven decisioning
  • Prepare summaries and visuals to communicate findings and insights

Qualifications

Education:

  • Currently in your Junior year pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field with a planned graduation date of Spring 2027.

Skills and Interests:

  • Basic SQL knowledge (familiarity with querying and joining tables)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Interest in fraud detection, risk management, or telecommunications

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with fraud prevention concepts or rule-based decisioning
  • Coursework or projects involving data analysis or machine learning
  • Experience with large datasets or database tools

-At least 18 years of age
-Legally authorized to work in the United States
-High School Diploma or GED
-Must be actively enrolled in a degree program or graduated within the last year
-Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for internships

Relocation may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.

Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location.
