Intern - Accountant

The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time hours for this role.

Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accounting functions of the retail and lease servicing and investor reporting systems and their impact on the financial statements and operational reports.
• Generally accepted accounting knowledge.
• Support accounting staff in all daily and monthly activities.
• Provide support and backup to the team to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Ensure the integrity of the monthly system accounting data affecting financial reporting.
• Address all financial reporting systems issues as they relate to systems reconciliations, roll forwards, and other Ad Hoc analysis/reporting.
• Research issues and work with appropriate departments to resolve system issues as well as internal process issues impacting the system.

Qualifications:

• This is a full-time, onsite position in Deerfield Beach, FL.
• The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
• Relevant completed coursework may include classes related to the role or similar.
• Understanding of accounting and analytics

• Must be able to understand transactional and operational accounting.
• Strong data analytics skills.
• Strong organization & time management Skills.
• Attention to detail and self-starter.
• Strong process analysis, risk and control identification and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
