Military Affairs and Strategic Partnerships (MASP) is the newest department at Navy Federal Credit Union, unifying the organization's diverse community engagement efforts into a single cohesive strategy. MASP ensures a cohesive approach to community impact, strengthening members’ financial health and supporting them through key moments both during and after military life.

The MASP Insights & Impact team leverages data to assess the effectiveness of MASP programs and identify opportunities to better deliver value to our members. Through rigorous evaluation and strategic analysis, they help ensure that MASP initiatives are aligned with member needs and organizational goals. By translating insights into actionable recommendations, the team plays a critical role in shaping the department’s strategy and maximizing its impact.

Potential projects include:

  • Designing a dashboard to evaluate the effectiveness of NFCU’s giving and volunteering programs
  • Partnering with the Program Management team to develop a dashboard that tracks member uptake and engagement with newly launched products
  • Creating a comprehensive departmental scorecard that synthesizes key performance indicators across MASP initiatives, offering a clear view of progress toward strategic goals 
     

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2026 and ending in August 2026. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or later.

  • Currently pursuing a master’s degree in business analytics, data science, or business administration
  • Experience with research, analysis, and data manipulation
  • Experience using data and analytic tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Azure Data Studio, SQL, Python, or R
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting to an executive audience
  • Comfort working with large datasets and telling stories with data
  • Ability to work independently and think outside of the box
  • Mine large data sets to design a Power BI dashboard and tell a story around the effectiveness and value of MASP partnerships and programs
  • Develop clear, user-friendly documentation and how-to guides to help internal stakeholders effectively navigate and leverage dashboards for decision-making
  • Present analytical results and dashboard capabilities to stakeholders across all levels, including senior leadership, to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Become integrated into and participate in the day-to-day strategy, analysis, and operations of the team
