The Global Payment team of Bytedance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. The Risk Solution team specializes in providing end-to-end payment risk control solutions, focusing on identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks in global payment transactions. By leveraging advanced risk management technologies and strategies, we ensure payment security, enhance customer experience, and support the steady growth of global business operations. We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2026. Internships at ByteDance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12 weeks. Summer Start Dates: - May 11th, 2026 - May 18th, 2026 - May 26th, 2026 - June 8th, 2026 - June 22nd, 2026 Responsibilities - Design and architect robust, scalable solutions for international payment platforms; - Manage and prioritize tasks throughout the software development lifecycle; - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to build tools and applications; - Implement automation using suitable tools and scripting techniques; - Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and perform rigorous testing; - Work closely with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to enhance product quality; - Maintain comprehensive documentation and oversee system performance; - Stay current with emerging technologies to ensure software innovation. Minimum Qualifications: - Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate/Master in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline. - Proficiency in programming, debugging, and optimizing code in one or more widely-used languages; - Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities; adaptable, proactive, and resourceful; - Quick learner with a proactive mindset, creative problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of ownership; - Collaborative team player, thriving in dynamic, culturally diverse, and globally distributed environments. - Must be able to commit to a 12-week full-time work period during Summer or Fall 2026. Preferred Qualifications: - Relevant internship experience with hands-on exposure to the tech stack - Basic understanding of the payment industry and risk vendors - Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
