Job Description

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.

The Cellular Phenotyping team is developing predictive models that utilize various morphological profiling techniques, including Cell Painting and DeepCell, to predict a wide range of phenotypes. These models have potential applications across several fields, such as optimizing antibody production in manufacturing, predicting clinical outcomes to identify responders and non-responders, and enhancing discovery methods through the comparison of different cell models. The summer intern will focus on generating morphological data using DeepCell and Cell Painting. The goal is to validate prediction models and assess their robustness by comparing models that incorporate a single data source (either Cell Painting or DeepCell) to those that integrate both data sources.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Data Generation: Use DeepCell and Cell Painting to produce morphological data.
  • Model Testing: Participate in testing and validating predictive models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Documentation and presentations: Record experimental procedures and share results with cross-functional teams
