Our Research and Development (R&D) team is shaping the future of the operating room and office for urology patients and clinicians.
Your Opportunity:
As an R&D Intern at Boston Scientific, you will…
- Contribute meaningfully to new product development, helping drive future products toward regulatory approval and commercial launch.
- Support problem-solving efforts where analysis of data and situations requires critical review of identifiable factors.
- Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results; prepare reports and documentation for a technical audience.
- Assist in troubleshooting product and process issues related to design, material, or process.
- Translate customer needs into product requirements and design specifications.
- Support concepts and designs for new products and processes; submit idea disclosures.
- Train technicians/operators on new processes and/or test procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing, to ensure project success.
- Explore career options within and outside of R&D through networking and cross-functional collaboration.
- Work on personal development goals such as public speaking, data presentation, and networking.
- Participate in employee activities and groups, including professional organizations (e.g., SWE, SHPE) and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
Your Impact
Assists in the development and analysis of products, materials, processes, or equipment. Under direct supervision/guidance, compiles, analyzes and reports operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products, processes, or materials.
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2027.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 18th – August 7th OR May 26th – August 14th
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to Boston Scientific’s Arden Hills, MN; Minnetonka, MN; OR Marlborough, MA location.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and innovating solutions.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proficiency in statistics.
Experience with SolidWorks.

Minimum Salary: $52,000.00
Maximum Salary: $66,560.00
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
