Data Governance Analyst Intern
 

Dates:                  June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026

Work Location:   Madison, WI | Hybrid

Early Development Program (EDP)
An internship path focused on delivering a meaningful experience designed to enhance students’ skillsets. With access to hands-on experience, mentorship, development sessions/workshops, and more, this pathway cultivates future talent who are exploring their career interests.  Most appropriate for freshmen and sophomores.


Job Purpose:

This role is designed to provide hands-on experience to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of the TruStage Data Governance Team, allowing an opportunity for individuals to apply what they have learned in a classroom environment while gaining new skills in a dynamic professional setting. The Data Governance Analyst Intern is a champion for data governance, data documentation, data management, and data quality. This role ensures that groups performing necessary data governance functions are closely linked and receive consistently strong data and analytics guidance.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, providing information, options, and taking the necessary action as needed
  • Conduct research on projects/files that require in-depth study and analysis
  • Gather and organize data for reports/projects using SQL and Excel
  • Help prepare written communications and presentations.
  • Attend and participate in meetings
  • Assist the Data Governance team members with implementing and maintaining governance standards and processes
  • Use Excel to create or change data documentation

Job Requirements:

  • Working towards a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or another relevant field
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn

Preferred Experience:

  • Understanding of database design and structures.
  • Knowledge of SQL and SQL technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of M365 (e.g., Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience with Data Catalogs is a plus (e.g., Alation, Collibra, etc.)
  • Experience with BI applications is a plus (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Working knowledge of data governance principles is a plus.

Base Salary Range:

$24.00 - $33.00
