Wisk’s internship experience is a 12 week, hands-on program. Our goal for our internship program is to see what it’s like to be a full time Wisk employee and complete meaningful work.

We are looking for a Radar Engineering Intern to join our team for summer 2026. The goal of a Radar Engineering Intern at Wisk is to ensure that the Air to Air Radar’s Detection and Tracking algorithms are designed, simulated, tested and analyzed to demonstrate compliance and/or gaps to the operational Detect & Avoid and GPS-Denided Navigation requirements. This is a hands-on opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects. You will work alongside senior engineers and mentors, gaining invaluable experience in radar systems design, signal processing, and performance analysis. You will be part of the Autonomy & Airspace Integration (AAI) Integrated Product Team (IPT) that has the mission to bring safe autonomous air operations to the Wisk Gen6 aircraft.

Responsibilities:

  • Algorithm Development: Assist in the design, simulation, implementation, and testing of radar signal processing algorithms (e.g., endo-clutter target detection, curvilinear tracking and environmental clutter removal) using the high-fidelity Automated Radar Encounter Simulator (ARES).

  • Testing & Data Analysis: Participate and then analyze the data collected from laboratory and flight testing. You will be responsible for interpreting results, identifying anomalies, validating simulation models, recommending improvement ideas and simulating these improvements.

  • Hardware Support: Participate in the integration and testing of radar hardware in a lab environment. Gain hands-on experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and oscilloscopes.

  • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, including simulation results, test reports, and design specifications.

  • Collaboration: Work within a cross-functional team, including systems, hardware, and software engineers, to support project goals.

  • Final Presentation: Conclude your internship by preparing and presenting your project, findings, and contributions to the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters or PhD degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028

  • Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Strong foundational knowledge of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and electromagnetics.

  • Proficiency in programming and analysis with MATLAB or Python.

  • Hands-on experience with RF laboratory test equipment.

  • Prefer students with some relevant coursework, such as: Radar Systems, Antenna Theory, RF/Microwave Engineering, or Radar Statistical Estimation Theory.

Job Type: Internship

Pay Rate for this internship opportunity is up to $30 per hour
