About Global Supply Management:

Global Supply Management (GSM) is responsible for partnering with Amex colleagues to optimize their third-party spend. The team provides strategic consultation to the business while providing end-to-end procurement services. It maximizes the purchasing power of the Company to drive the best value from its supplier base which then frees-up investment capacity for the Enterprise. GSM, together with its business partners, manages the supplier strategy for the Company: identifying and on-boarding new third-party suppliers, realizing significant cost savings, and generating value through collaboration with GCS and GMNS.

About the Role:

As an Analyst within SS&BE at American Express, you’ll support the delivery of the most effective strategy for achieving maximum value for American Express with our supply base, through the sourcing and contracting process.  You will also support category managers to develop global category management plans to meet business objectives, understand spend profiles, leverage and complete industry benchmarking and prepare presentations and dashboards for internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

·Reporting to one of the UK Contract Managers, you’ll be accountable for the cost-effective procurement of, and contract execution for, a wide range of products and services - whilst achieving or exceeding business requirements.

·Implement Category strategies including the development and execution of sourcing activities (Request for Information, Request for Proposal).

·Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers to identify opportunities where we can drive cost saves across the category.

·Drive value and competitive advantage to our business partners through effective supplier negotiations.

·Review and identify supplier risk, working with Third Party Risk Management teams and business stakeholders to support strong supplier governance.

·Manage the execution of contracts in line with required policies, standards, and processes.

·Drive results cross-functionally, and across business units, that have a major impact on American Express’ revenue and profitability.

Minimum Qualifications:

·Commercial acumen, with strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach.

·Positive attitude, flexibility, and a team player.

·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·Proven ability to drive results and prioritize work activities.

·Ability to thrive in a fast paced and fluid business environment.

·Interpersonal skills to work across a wide range of teams and build effective working relationships.

·Ability to influence others with a collaborative, inclusive and engaging style; with a practical approach to delivering successful, collaborative outcomes to support evolving business needs.

·Some experience working in a Supplier Management, Procurement or Contract Management role would be advantageous, but not essential.

Students must have a graduation date between June - September 2027
