Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

What you will be doing as a Capital Projects & Supply Chain Construction Intern:
You will be given the opportunity to step into Meijer Construction to facilitate Project Management in the Capital Projects & Supply Chain Construction realm. This program supports all areas of the business, executing projects on behalf of Merchandising, Retail Operation, Facilities Maintenance, Life Cycle Management, and Supply Chain teams, amongst others.
Our focus is to deliver projects at a high level while maintaining excellent communication to business partners. You’ll be tasked with aiding in development of the project scope, facilitating a competitive bid event, awarding work, developing schedules, assisting in managing budgets, and project closeout. The role will require facilitation of project kickoff meetings, progress discussions, pre-construction meetings, and project closeout discussions.
Further, you’ll be given the opportunity to leverage project management tools widely used across the industry, inclusive of Microsoft Project, Procore, and SAP.
The intern may also get exposure to other activities of the function, including:
- Capital Project Design Development
- Purchase Order Management / Procurement
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Qualifications:
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI.
- Problem Solving - Probes all fruitful sources for answers, and looks beyond the obvious to assemble and interpret data
- Drive for results - has focus on the bottom line
- Customer focus - dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers
- Relationship Skills - can create positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies
- Communication Skills - conveys the right information in writing and verbally
