This is a 6-month (January 5th-June 26th, 2026) paid internship experience out of our Boston, MA headquarters.
As a Security Trust & Compliance Co-op, you will assist in the daily operations of the Security Risk & Trust team as well as support key projects to achieve our 2025 goals. This person will work closely with the larger Information Security team and will collaborate with other Klaviyos in Information Technology, Product Management, Legal, Software Engineering, and more.
The Risk & Trust team is responsible for both understanding Klaviyo’s internal risks and implementing key security measures to protect our customer’s data. We also build trust with our customers by communicating the strength of Klaviyo’s security, privacy, and compliance practices.
Individuals in this role will have the opportunity to gain experience at an established software-as-a-service (SaaS) company and will gain experience in a unique, in-demand, growing field that encompasses aspects of risk, security, compliance, and data privacy.
How you will make an impact:
- Create security awareness and training content to deliver relevant, targeted security training to our employees.
- Conduct gap analysis on data privacy frameworks (e.g. SOC 2 Privacy, ISO 27018) and work with stakeholders to implement privacy controls in our product and processes.
- Assist in implementing newly acquired tooling to automate key Sarbanes-Oxley IT General Controls (SOX ITGCs), such as quarterly user access reviews.
- Support the Security Trust & Compliance team in daily operations such as responding to customer and employee security inquiries and investigating control monitoring findings
- Transform workflows by putting AI at the center, building smarter systems and ways of working from the ground up.
Who You Are:
- Undergraduate student graduating from May 2027-May 2028 pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Are able to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholder teams on both larger projects and individual tasks
- Have already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast.
- Strong communication skills with a penchant for asking questions and sharing ideas, even when it might be uncomfortable to do so
- Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver results cross-functionally and in a timely fashion
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are curious about data privacy and cybersecurity
- Have at least one previous internship or co-op experience in cybersecurity or risk/compliance
