Position Overview:
This in an internship for a Compliance Analyst who will assist the compliance team in ensuring that Squarepoint operates within legal and regulatory guidelines. The successful candidate will provide administrative support and assist with the implementation and maintenance of the compliance program.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the compliance program, including policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Assist in the development of compliance training materials and coordinate training sessions for employees.
- Conduct research on relevant regulations and laws that impact the fund's operations.
- Assist in conducting periodic risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Help monitor and test the effectiveness of the compliance program, including conducting reviews of trading activities, trade surveillance, and market abuse monitoring.
- Maintain compliance records and databases using Confluence or Jira.
- Provide administrative support to the compliance team, including preparing reports, maintaining files, and scheduling meetings.
- Assist in regulatory filings and the coordination of regulatory examinations and audits.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or currently in progress.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Nice to have:
- Some relevant work experience in the financial services industry or in a compliance-related role preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and laws, such as the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, SEC rules, and FINRA regulations preferred.
- Experience using Confluence and Jira
The minimum base salary for this role is $60,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions. Successful candidates’ compensation and benefits will be determined in consideration of various factors.
