IT Intern – Infrastructure & Operations (Hybrid)
Dates: June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026
Work Location: Madison, WI | Hybrid

Emerging Professional Program (EPP)
An internship path focused on equipping graduating students with the tools/skills needed to transition into a potential career at TruStage. Interns receive comprehensive support and guidance to enhance their company knowledge, integrate into the company culture, and develop key connections. This pathway enables young professionals to be considered for potential opportunities at TruStage. Open to students graduating in December 2026 or May 2027.
Job Purpose:
This role is designed to provide hands-on experience to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of the organization, allowing an opportunity for individuals to apply what they have learned in a classroom environment while gaining new skills in a dynamic professional setting. Specific activities will vary by department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of more senior staff, provide limited technical support to customers, relative to the coding, maintaining, installing, testing, and monitoring of hardware and software.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining physical servers, virtual servers, and storage systems.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic issues.
- Document system configurations and standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in system upgrades and patch management.
- Support basic storage provisioning and monitoring.
- Participate in routine backup and recovery operations.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining physical servers, virtual servers, and storage systems.
- Communicate with the customer and/or representative, providing information, options, and taking the necessary action as needed.
- Conduct research on projects/files that require in-depth study and analysis.
- Gather and organize data for reports/projects.
- Compose correspondence and emails.
- Prepare written reports/projects.
- Resolve problems and/or issues.
- Attend and participate in meetings and team discussions.
Job Requirements:
- Working towards an associate’s degree or higher.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and the desire to learn.
Preferred Skills | End User Services Intern
- Understanding of infrastructure technology life cycle, server platforms, networking, cloud environments, information security concepts, and agile methodology.
- Experience with any of the following is helpful: JSON, PowerShell, scripting languages, C#, Web API’s, Git, Azure, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
Preferred Skills | Distributed Systems Engineer Intern
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems, virtualization (e.g., VMware), and storage concepts.
- Basic understanding of backup tools and system documentation.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and system administration.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of ITSM concepts and processes.
- Familiarity with premise and Azure-based infrastructure or services.

Base Salary Range:
