Microsoft SQL Server DBA - Intern
The Database Administrator will be part of an evolving database landscape at Motion. The role will work with senior members of the database team, leveraging their knowledge while learning multiple database platforms. The primary objective of the internship will focus on the long-term support and feasibility of our Microsoft SQL Server database lifecycle. This role will provide great opportunity in gaining experience with various on-prem and cloud database technologies. This position will also work with other departments within IT and the business, collaborating, planning and positioning for the future growth of the enterprise landscape.
This position will be based in Birmingham, Alabama. Interns will be onsite at the Birmingham headquarters.
- Responsibilities:
- Work alongside development, Infrastructure team members to create and support migration plans from SQL Server 2016 to 2022.
- Help supporting Cloud Database technologies, working with Google’s database suite.
- Plan and coordinate deployment procedures.
- Take part in Agile ceremonies.
Qualifications:
- Education in IT, MIS or related field
- Database Administration
- Attention to detail
- Project Planning
Preferred:
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with PowerShell
- Reporting and Analytic background.
- Experience with Database Administration tools:
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
PGAdmin
MongoDB Compass
PowerBI
Microsoft SQL Server Replication
