Main Responsibilities
The Failure Analysis Intern operates within their local team and supporting projects
• Failure Analysis test station setup
• Work as a part of Failure Analysis Engineers team in root cause analysis, Analyzing data and observations from failure identification material, field information, machine data, test stand data, pump strip report data and final test data. Using this information, undertake advanced problem solving and detailed analysis to understand failure modes and utilizes escalation process for more complex investigations.
• To track and raise potential new types of failure modes and new problem processes with supporting evidence leading to an improvement of the lifetime of vacuum pumps.
• To provide accurate and quality failure analysis reports in the failure analysis system for all products returned to the Service Technology Centre, seeking approval from Failure Analysis Manager for release to customers within acceptable time schedules.
• To accurately record failures Failure Analysis Reporting system and internal database.
• Work with the other region Failure Analysis and technical teams to improve root cause identification and support the introduction of corrective actions.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Education level: Undergraduate or graduate students. Typically rising juniors/seniors/graduate students; freshman & sophomores welcome.
- Relevant Previous experience: In relevant major for internship focus.
- Knowledge areas/Skills: Strong communication skills & attention to detail. Willingness to learn new skills & about vacuum technologies in a professional/dynamic environment.
