Job Description:

Are you a driven, student journalist eager to work in an award-winning newsroom before your senior year? The Wall Street Journal video internship offers an unparalleled opportunity for college juniors to gain practical work experience in our award-winning newsroom in New York, with mentorship and tailored training sessions. Graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the application deadline – October 31, 2025 – who are returning to school in the fall are also eligible to apply. Graduating seniors should apply to WSJ News Associates

We are looking for ambitious, creative students who think foremost about the audience and are able to work independently under deadline pressure. You don’t need to be a business or economics expert, but a commitment to high journalistic standards is a must.

Your primary duties will include supporting production in all forms: pitching, development, shooting, editing and publishing. You should have a strong interest in news and original reporting.

Basic video shooting and editing skills, as well as an understanding of video formats and delivery methods, are necessary. If you have experience in the field or editing in Adobe Premiere, you will set yourself apart.  Social-media savvy or experience with vertical video is also a bonus.

You should have completed at least one prior reporting internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer.

HOW TO APPLY:

Please upload one PDF document (max. 5MB). Your application document should contain:

  • A short cover letter.

  • Your résumé.

  • Three examples of your work detailing your specific role in the reporting and production.  You may include a link to a website for video work samples.

The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 31, 2025 at midnight Eastern time. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Internship timing: 10 weeks between June and August.

Only finalists will be contacted. We will review applications on a rolling basis and strive to make selections by the end of January.
