Working closely with the Product Owner, Product Manager, and agile squads, this internship offers a unique opportunity to learn the end-to-end product lifecycle in a dynamic environment within the insurance and financial services industry.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and collaborative, with a strong interest in business analysis, product development, agile methodologies, and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

Backlog Management and Refinement

  • Assist in documenting and maintaining user stories in JIRA under the guidance of the Product Manager.
  • Support backlog organisation by helping track priorities, dependencies, and progress.
  • Participate in refinement sessions to observe how requirements are gathered, discussed, and clarified.
  • Shadow the Product Manager to learn how epics are broken down into actionable stories and capture acceptance criteria.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Support the preparation of prototypes, mock-ups, or examples to help communicate requirements to stakeholders.
  • Assist in preparing presentation materials, training content, or meeting notes for stakeholder sessions.
  • Gain exposure to how the squad, SMEs, and third-party developers collaborate to deliver features.

Agile Execution and Delivery

  • Participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to observe and support the delivery process.
  • Assist the Product Manager to prepare demo materials for Sprint Reviews and in capturing stakeholder feedback.
  • Support the Product Manager in tracking feature progress and maintaining clear documentation.

Process improvement and Metrics

  • Assist in updating JIRA and Confluence with notes, sign-offs, or other delivery details.
  • Support the collection and tracking of product metrics to monitor outcomes and team performance.
  • Contribute to ideas and observations on potential improvements to workflows.

Key Qualifications

  • Current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in business analysis, agile development, and digital transformation in the insurance and financial services industry.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or prototyping software is a plus, but not required.

Key Behaviours and Mindset

  • Learner’s mindset: Open to feedback, curious, and eager to gain new skills.
  • Collaborative: Works well in team environments, supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
  • User-focused: Interested in understanding customer needs and how products delivery value.
  • Proactive Contributor: Takes initiative to ask questions, suggest ideas, and support the team whenever needed.
  • Adaptable: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and comfortable with change.
