The purpose of the renewable energy internship position is to develop college students that are pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in GIS or a similar field. Interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and activities that occur within the renewable energy business. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in college and demonstrate abilities in the workplace. The position is temporary, nonexempt, part-time/hourly.

  • Must be a college student, sophomore or higher standing, currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in GIS or similar field
  • Prior utility or energy industry experience helpful but not required
  • Solid computer skills (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective project management skills
  • Effective analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects within tight deadlines
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer background check and drug screen

  • Supports all activities associated with the development and construction of new renewable generation projects
  • Provides technical support for the development and execution of strategies to deliver sustainability solutions to customers
  • Assists with evaluation and due diligence on potential investments, acquisitions and other business evaluations and performs research
  • Develops and maintains reports, presentations, project schedules and plans, and tracks project financials, invoicing and development and construction status of projects
  • Analyze financial models; provide summary of information to development team on analysis
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
