Inside the Role
Interns will gain knowledge and experience through exciting and real-life learning opportunities. Interns must work in accordance with DTNA’s core values of passion, respect, integrity and discipline. Internship positions can be located at various DTNA locations across the US. We are looking for high performing and motivated individuals in various areas within DTNA organizations. DTNA internships begin each summer in May or June.The Low Voltage Power Network team is critical in every project, every platform and every vehicle. Our group focuses on power generation, power distribution, power conversion and energy storage by creating and maintaining the vehicle’s low voltage architecture. This position will focus on collaboration and coordination with global component owners that require low voltage circuit protection for Conventional Diesel, Electric, and Autonomous vehicle platforms on medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles.
Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position subject to manager evaluations and business availability.

Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $30 per hour.

- Advancing Excel-based Global Consumer List into internal Daimler Truck tool suite or similar version-controlled application
- Daily collaboration with electrical device owners to assess circuit protection needs and requirements, while also informing about specifications the electrical devices are required to follow
- Daily collaboration with wiring design colleagues to match circuit protection strategy with wiring harness strategy via in-person meetings, desk conversations, emails, online messaging and cross-department workshops
- Creation and maintenance of circuit pinout documentation for power distribution modules, which are essentially the fuse boxes for our vehicles
- Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June)
Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Developing knowledge of electrical principles and circuit design
- Developing knowledge of fuses, relays, circuit breakers
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Solid organizational skills
- Creative mindset
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
