The Marketing and Design Research Co-op will support TurboTax’s Marketing Research and Design Research team in planning, coordinating and executing customer and product research projects. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and product design strategy. You will learn about quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, building customer personas and segmenting our audience, and shaping our product’s future through deep customer empathy.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
- Coordinating, organizing customer research projects and delivering insights that help us drive deep customer empathy internally
- Collaborating across cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Design, Product, Content, and Analytics to identify research opportunities
- Supporting customer outreach and engagement, programming surveys for data collection
- Working independently on secondary research for competitive, marketing and brand intelligence
- Assisting in creating research reports and presentations by analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data
- Piloting new ways of collecting and codifying
- Organizing and presenting voice of customer findings to internal stakeholders across TurboTax and the larger Canadian Consumer Group
- Staying curious—asking questions, seeking feedback, learning quickly, and leveling up tools and methods.
Qualifications|What you'll bring
What You'll Bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to effectively communicate compelling insights.
- Knowledge of customer research methodologies, research tools and statistical techniques is an added bonus.
- Passion for customer empathy, data analysis and story telling to inform business decisions.
- Highly detail oriented and pay close attention to the specifics of problems, questions, and projects.
- Proven track record of demonstrating leadership and initiative in personal and professional experiences (e.g., student organizations and/or past internships)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Actively enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
- A graduation date at least 4 months after the co-op term ends.
- Available for an 8 or 12-month co-op work term for 40 hours per week
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the co-op term, without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to work in our Toronto office a minimum of 3 days per week.
