About the role
As a Cloud Developer intern, you will join and reinforce the TCM Kondor modernization and cloud enablement team which primary objective is to accelerate the Cloud Transformation journey across our core systems through innovative application development.
We are looking for a curious and enthusiastic intern to join our team to design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications and microservices on Azure. You will work on building modern, scalable solutions leveraging cloud services, APIs, and containerized architectures.
A Cloud Developer's responsibilities include developing features, integrating cloud services, building APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Ultimately, you will work with different IT professionals and teams to build innovative cloud applications that meet the needs of our organization and customers.
Objectives of this Role
Develop cloud-native applications and microservices using modern frameworks and Azure cloud services.
Design and implement RESTful APIs to enable integration between systems and services.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following industry best practices and coding standards.
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver features.
Stay current with cloud technologies, development frameworks, and industry trends to continuously improve solutions.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications using programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and orchestrate them with Kubernetes.
Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
Work with databases to design schemas and optimize queries.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality and development practices.
Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
Debug and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack.
Document technical specifications, API contracts, and system architectures.
Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to ensure applications are scalable and production-ready.
Requirements
Final year Bachelor's or Master's student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Strong foundation in at least one programming language (Python, Java)
Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles
Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and web frameworks
Familiarity with RESTful API concepts and JSON data format
Understanding of relational databases and SQL fundamentals
Basic knowledge of containerization with Docker
Fundamental understanding of cloud computing concepts
Experience with version control systems (Git)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good written and oral communication skills in English
Passion for learning new technologies and best practices
Ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment
Nice to Have
Experience building personal or academic projects with modern web frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, Spring Boot, FastAPI)
Hands-on experience with Azure services through labs or personal projects
Knowledge of microservices architecture patterns
Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka)
Experience with testing frameworks
Basic understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration
Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Contributions to open-source projects or active GitHub portfolio
Cloud certifications (Azure Fundamentals AZ-900, Azure Developer Associate AZ-204)
Understanding of application security best practices (OWASP)
Interest in observability tools (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana)
