Position Overview 

As an Experience Design Intern, you’ll help shape the future of digital customer experiences with a focus on AI and Conversational Design. Designers at Autodesk think across the system, champion design ideas, collaborate with partners, advocate for the customer, and deliver impactful data-driven designs. Our designers use creative solutions to deliver high-quality experiences our customers will love. 
 
You will be working on our AI-powered Customer Success solutions, designing and influencing our AI-powered experiences, such as Autodesk Assistant, and help shape how customers interact with intelligent systems. You’ll be part of a team that delivers seamless experiences across the customer lifecycle, with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to meaningful projects. 

Responsibilities 

  • Document current conversational experiences, pain points, and workflows in AI-powered interfaces 

  • Analyze and connect qualitative and quantitative insights from user interactions with conversational systems 

  • Collaborate with designers, analysts, and product managers to create future-state journeys for AI and conversational products 

  • Support the design and prototyping of conversational flows, chatbots, and voice interfaces

  • Participate in team critiques, documentation, and design operations 

  • Apply systems thinking and human-centered design principles to conversational experiences 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2027 

  • Portfolio with example projects demonstrating design competencies and thinking 

  • Passion for systems thinking and human-centered design 

  • Interest in AI, conversational interfaces, or digital transformation 

 
Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, etc) or similar 

  • Knowledge of UX and CX approaches, especially in conversational or AI-driven contexts 

  • Prior projects working on service design or conversational experiences 

  • Familiarity with prototyping tools for chatbots or voice interfaces 

About the US Intern Program 

The 2026 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 18 – August 7 or June 15 – September 4). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. Our internships align with Autodesk’s Flexible Workplace approach, supporting office, remote, and hybrid work preferences.

Salary Transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience, educational level, and geographic location, and can exceed this range.

For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized intern base salary to be between:

  • $47,840 and $95,680 (undergraduate students)
  • $72,800 and $118,500 (Masters/MBA students)
  • $118,560 and $162,240 (PhD students)
