About Us:
Applanix, a division of Trimble, specializes in advanced positioning solutions combining inertial technology, GNSS, and perception-based localization. Our team is dedicated to the development and implementation of mobile mapping and real-time applications. We're currently seeking a 16-month intern to assist with system integration and testing, contributing to the evaluation and implementation of cutting-edge technology in our field.
Job Description:
The Hardware/Geomatics Project Engineering Intern will support our Mobile Mapping team in system tests, integrations, and the enhancement of our mapping hardware and software technologies. This role provides practical experience in a dynamic environment, working closely with our product management and development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in system testing and integration for mobile mapping hardware and software solutions.
Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and improve system performance.
Support data collection and processing activities.
Contribute to the development of operational documentation.
Participate in research activities to explore new technologies in geospatial data acquisition.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year Mechanical or Computer Engineering program, with a focus and/or interest in Geomatics, Surveying, Mapping, GNSS, or GIS.
Experience using Python and C++ is a plus
Understanding of geospatial data collection technologies including Lidar equipment
Interest in mobile mapping systems and software.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to work independent and as part of a team.
